  1. Too early to have informed view of other members. Some might say I am the one who is a bit odd and socially inept, so perhaps I might fit in in a couple of years.

    Jeff

I went for 5 weeks, I did meet a couple of nice people, the big sweaty biker bloke wearing a pink dress did stand out a bit though!

  2. Recently purchased a  "Hama Traveller Compact Pro", £25 from Amazon it weighs 1.5kgs.

I was dubious because of the price but most of the user reviews spoke well of it so I gave it a go, been delighted with it so far.

Don't know how the 1.5 kgs compares to your Manfrotto and you may want to go for one of the super light carbons but they are obviously not cheap.

I have one too very good for the money..

  3. 1st video... yes mental..

2nd video..... they are riding fairly slowly, though I have never ridden those paths I have ridden through quarries and down very narrow paths through heavily wooded forests I don't really see that much danger.....   and if you are going to kill yourself would you not want to die doing what you love rather than go with no dignity in a hospital bed?  I only stopped riding after a bad experience with a tree branch sticking out at head height then realising I maybe getting too old to take the risk of not being able to pay the mortgage.

as for risks.... did I mention I had to run out of the way of 3 cars this year while capturing photo's of cars racing.....

  4. Interesting. What HAVE you used film in then, Leon?

was it atx...apx..aps systems I only got my 1st digital camera when Megan was born (she's 13)  I do remember film :p  it was all auto then though..
